How well do I need to speak German?

Members are at all different levels. One member actually learned all of his German by coming to Polyglots every two weeks. Some members are native speakers and some are not. If you do not speak German very well and just want to start out by listening at meetings, that's fine too. We are very flexible! As long as you are interested in becoming a better German speaker you belong in our meetings!

How many members are native speakers?

About 30% of the members were born in Germany.

What are the ages of your members?

Our members are all adults, but other than that we have all different ages in the group.

How often do I have to give a prepared speech?

You can give a prepared speech as often or as seldom as you wish. The Toastmasters manuals are in English and German and will help you with each speech. Also, if you wish to have help with the German, one of the members will be able to accommodate you.

Do you have any social events outside of the meetings?

We have two annual social events for members and their guests. In the summer we have a picnic and in January we have a more formal year-end celebration with dinner and entertainment at a restaurant.
